Designer Flea Market: For Goodness’ Sake

January 20, 2018

Top Wilmington designers are gathering for a good cause in early March.

Sponsored by Gathered.

Gathered, a curated design studio for the southern home, is aptly named. Owner Lindsey Cheek, makes it a point to gather goods from and lend support to local artists and collectors, both in her shop, at events, and on her online store. Gathered is a bright spot on Wrightsville Ave., hidden behind the bustle of Independence Mall. It hosts an eclectic mix of a variety of goods; from refined, elegant, and functional household items to funky, whimsical, and fashionable clothing and accessories. It’s the one-stop local shop for gifts and items that make a statement.

Gathered’s local mission doesn’t stop with artists and designers, though. Cheek always finds a way to wrap in local nonprofits.

Go Local – For Good

On March 3rd from 9am-3pm, five local designers will gather their goods – gifts for the home and personal items and accessories. And, 10% of their proceeds will go to Welcome Home Angel, a ten-year-old local non-profit designed to “bring joy and relief to children in the Wilmington, NC area with chronic and physically debilitating illnesses or injuries”.

Welcome Home gathers volunteers, funds, and materials needed to renovate and prepare homes and children’s rooms to accommodate their needs upon their return from a hospital or care center.

And, Cheek wants to help, in both raising awareness and funding their efforts. Find out more about Welcome Home Angel and Gathered. Then, get The Designer Flea on your calendar to support local, all the way around.
